Installing this bonus software CD

To install the software on this CD you must first have installed LBA-Linux (using CD 1, LBA-Linux R1 beta Installation CD). To install the bonus software from this CD:

  1. Click the Up2date icon on the LBA-Linux root desktop. This will run the up2date program.
  2. Click the "Install CD" button on the main toolbar of the Up2date window.
  3. Insert the bonus software CD into the CD-ROM drive

The LBA-Linux R1 beta test programme has two goals. Like most beta tests, one goal is to uncover any bugs in the beta software. The programme's second goal is to discover how LBA-Linux performs on a range of hardware. To this end, a suite of test programs has been included on the LBA-Linux R1 beta installation CD. Knowing more about the kinds of hardware people are using will help us to select appropriate drivers and software to include in LBA-Linux.
