These instructions describe how to install RPM-packages directly from a web-page, using Konqueror.
Click on Click here to install link, and konqueror will open kpackage in a new window to install the rpm.
At the right of the Kpackage window you will see a description of the rpm with the two tabs Properties and File list. In the Properties tab you can read general information about the rpm you are going to install. The File list tab lists the files that will be installed by the selected rpm.
At the lower right corner are two buttons: Install and Uninstall. Click the Install button to install the rpm. The Uninstall button is disabled by default.
Kpackage offers the following installation settings:
Upgrade
Replace Files
Replace Packages
Check Dependencies
Test(do not install)
The default options are Upgrade, Replace Packages and Check Dependencies. It is not necessary to activate the other settings to install the rpm. The package can be installed simply by clicking the Install button in the lower left corner.
After the rpm has been installed, kpackage will return to the main window. Clicking on the rpm's name here will allow you to uninstall the package if you wish.
