"Type" list:

Select "User" if you want to set folders for single user.
Select "Group" if you want to set folders for all users in single group.
Select "Everyone in Groups Union" if you want to set folders for all users in few similar groups (example: students in year2001, year2002, year2003 groups).




"Name" list or textbox:

For HTTP Commander Standard:
Select name of user or group for whom you want to set folders.
Or enter any unique name for Groups Union (EX: Home folders for Students)




"Folder location" value:

Enter path to the folder for that you want to make access for selected user or group.

If you want to set folder for group or Groups Union then you can use %USERNAME% pattern in the path. This pattern will be replaced with the logged on user name (ex.: "C:\Data\%USERNAME%" will be C:\Data\JDoe for JDoe user.)

You can use %GROUPS_UNION_#% patterns (%GROUPS_UNION_1%, %GROUPS_UNION_2%, etc.) in the path. These patterns will be replaced with the logged on user's group name in appropriate Groups Union. (EX: IF you have Groups Union year2001|year2002|year2003 and path C:\%GROUPS_UNION_1%\Data. User JDoe from year2002 group will have access to C:\year2002\Data folder and user MLynch from year2003 group will have access to C:\year2003\Data folder, etc.)
You can set Groups Unions in HTCOMNET\web.config file.





"Folder name" value:

Enter any "user friendly" name for the folder with "\" symbol at the end. Real paths will be hidden. (ex.: "My documents\", "Home folder\", "Shared for Students\", "W:\", "H:\")
You can use %USERNAME% and %GROUPS_UNION_#% patterns. See Folder location.





"Folder description" value:

Enter any comment or description of the folder. This description will be visible for users while working with files/folders. You can use HTML tags here.





"Disk quota" value:

Limitation of the maximum size of the folder. Leave "None" value if unlimited quota. Don't set quota for large folders becouse HTTP Commander will work very slow (it gets size of folder before each operation.). If it is possible use NTFS disk quota instead of this feature in HTTP Commander.





"Can modify" value:

Select "Yes" if user will have possibility to modify files in folder(Create new file/folder, Rename, Cut, Copy, Delete, ZIP/Unzip operations.).






"Can upload" value:

Select "Yes" if user will have possibility to upload files to the folder.






"Can zip" value:

Select "Yes" if user will have possibility to zip files in folder.






"Can unzip" value:

Select "Yes" if user will have possibility to unzip files in folder.





"Can Set attributes" value:

Select "Yes" if user will have possibility to set attributes of the files or folders. You can protect files and folders seted "Read Only" attribute. Just allow "Can set attributes" for some users/groups and disable for some other. First type of users must set Read Only attribute for all items to protect them, Second type of users will have possibility to view items but not to delete or overwrite them.






"Max size of uploading file" value:

You can set the maximum size of uploading files to prohibit uploading too big files.






"Prohibit extensions" value:

Prohibit the uploading of files with particular extensions, separated by ";" symbol (ex.: "MP3;EXE;MPEG;AVI").




"Folders in database":

Table of seted folders for users or groups. Click "edit" button to edit values. Few folders for one user or group must be separated by "|" symbol (HTTP Commander willn't work if fields will have different count of separators. Please check it before saving). Click "delete" button to delete record.




"Show folders for user: " textbox:

Shows which folders this user will have access to.
