SIMMONS SDS-400 ELECTRONIC DRUM UNIT 13-7-1994 ------------------------------------ The disk contains 20 samples - 3 'white noise' type "slap" sounds - 17 electronic tom (snare?) sounds The Simmons SDS-400 is an analog electronic drum unit with 4 different tom sound sources. They are all meant to be triggered from Simmons (or similar) type drum pads, but can also be used with other trigger signals (i.e. outputs of drum machines or tape). The four toms are the same except for tom 1 which also has a "run generator", which varies the pitch of this drum either sequentially or randomly. Other than that, the following controls are available for each drum; - trigger sensitivity - filter pitch - filter sweep - 2nd skin level - tone pitch - bend - decay - balance (tone/white noise) - click level (attack 'click') - output level There are individual outputs for each of the toms in addition to a stereo output. The disk contains a wide variety of sounds created with the SDS-400 with most of the possibilities covered. Hallvard Tangeraas, Oslo, Norway
