"More thin analysis and obscure games."

This issue offers historical analysis from the 1950s, and some new lines and ideas.

Too often we play standard opening moves without hesitation. Sometimes it is refreshing to go back to basics: think again those natural moves. For example,

1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.c4 dxe4 4.Nc3 Nf6 5.d5?! sets a nice trap that may work in rapid games: 5...Bb4?? 6.Qa4+. Other moves lead to novel variations: 5...c6 6.Bg5 or 5...exd5 6.cxd5 Bc5 7.Nxe4 Qe7 8.Bd3.
