Coin-Op Auctions List Last Updated: 1-15-94 Author: mcbride@cs.arizona.ed NOTE: Sorry about the lateness of the post. I am moving to a new state at the end of January. It will take some time to get my new accout settled. Therefore the next listing will probably not be posted until late Feb. Welcome to the Coin-Op Auctions List. This answers the Frequently Asked Questions "Is there an auction near me?" and "When is the next xxx Auction?" The Coin-Op Auctions List lists "regulary" scheduled auctions, and the auctioneers that present the auctions. A regulary scheduled auction is one that is scheduled at least a months in advance, and is generally based on consignment. Auctions that are scheduled with short advance notice, (usually a bankruptcy or other liqudation sell) or are not primarly coin-op will most likely be missed. Coin-op auctions cover most coin operated machinery, which includeds, but is not limited to Video Games, Pinball Machines, Redemption equipment, jukeboxes, and cigarette machines. This list is split into two parts. The first part is the auction calendar, a list of auctions by date. For each auction the initials of the auction house and the state are listed. If the location of the auction is different than that posted for the auction house, the address will also be posted here. The second part is a list of Auctioneers. Currently only American Auction Houses are listed. I am trying to track down auctions outside of the states. If you know of any, pleas email me. (A Canadian House as been added!) For more information on the auction please contact the auctioneer via the posted phone number. Most of the auctions listed here open around 10 AM on Saturday. Previewing generally begins an hour before the auction starts on Saturday, and for some auctions all day on Friday. Those interested may also want to check out the Buying from an Auction FAQ located at wiretap.spies.com as FAQ.game.auctions. In addition keep an eye on the Auctions listed in the classifieds. I will also mail this FAQ, on a monthly basis, about two weeks after the posting to the newsgroups, to anyone interested. If you would like to get on the list, please send me an email. Please keep in mind that the list is maintained by hand.
