Norwegian Air Shuttle or shortly just Norwegian is a budget carrier operating in all the Nordic countries and beyond, operating also long-haul flights. Norwegian started as a small subsidiary and helper of Braathens, which then was a strong competitor of SAS in Norwegian domestic flights. When SAS then managed to take over Braathens, SAS immediately terminated all agreements and the small company almost went bankrupt, but its CEO had the courage to turn everything around, invested a lot and succeeded. Today Norwegian is the third largest budget airline in Europe and has six subsidiaries, one even in Argentina. But Norwegian has also suffered a lot financially lately and rumeors say that it could soon go belly up.

LN-NHC is a Boeing B737-800 which was delivered to Norwegian in January 2015.

Norwegian EI-FJD is a Boeing B737 version 800 registered in Ireland and named as Miguel de Cervantes. It was delivered to Norwegian in January 2016.

Norwegian EI-FVZ is yet another Boeing B737 version 800 registered in Ireland. It is named as Jan Baalsrud. It was delivered to Norwegian in January 2018, so it is still quite new.

The grounding of all Boeing B737 max 8 planes after two serious fatal accidents proved really costly for Norwegian. Here two max 8 planes doing nothing and just standing for several months.

Now they are flying again. Norwegian's SE-RTJ is a Boeing B737-max 8. Compared with the older machines these are more comfortable for passengers. There is more legroom space and one can feel clearly that these machines have more powerful engines: It accelerates and takes up real quickly.

Norwegian got into big trouble when all new B737 max 8 planes were grounded after two deadly crashes. They didn't have enough planes anymore. This is one part of their solution. This is an almost 30 years old B737-300 now owned and operated by the Lithuanian company Getjet, here flying on behalf of Norwegian on Norwegian's route from Helsinki to Oslo. Getjet is flying several other of Norwegian's routes as well using Lithuanian crews. For the passengers these planes are extremely uncomfortable as the seats have been packed so tightly together that long-legged passengers cannot sit normally and there is for example no way to be able to lower the tray table just because there's no space.
