Subject: [*] CMTools 1.1

CMTools is a plug-in extension that brings new functions to the Contextual
Menu of Mac OS 8 :

  - Launcher for applications, files and folders.
  - Create aliases directly in your preferred folders.
  - Decompress files.
  - Compress any items (documents, folders, applications, etc...).
  - Copy files and folders.
  - Move files and folders.
  - Change the creator and type codes of files.
  - Open files directly with your preferred applications.

You organize the menus as it suits you, by creating and organizing files
and aliases in a special folder in the Finder.

New Features:

You can now control the order of CMTool's menus.
"Copy to" and "Move to" the desktop.
CMTools can be used with CM-savvy applications other than the Finder.

Bugs fixed:

Suffix checking for compressed files was case sensitive.
CMTool's fell into MacsBug if EvenBetterBusError was installed.
Certain applications refused to open documents that CMTools sent them.

CMTools is freeware.

You will need a copy of 'Discolour' to use these patches. Discolour can be

Subject: [*] Helium 3.1

Helium 3.1 is a shareware program that improves Balloon Help on the
Macintosh.

With Helium installed, users can press a key combination to instantly see
the balloon help for whatever's under the cursor on the screen, without
having to turn help on and off again. Users can also choose their own
font and size for balloon help text, making it more readable. Finally,
Helium lets users hide the Help menu (and show it for a moment if
necessary).

This version includes a fix for a conflict with Kaleidoscope, plus new
features. The program is fully compatible with Mac OS 8 (and correctly
hides the Mac OS 8 "Help" menu if you wish).

If you've been frustrated by Balloon Help, you'll find that Helium makes
it usable!

Subject: [*] Kineto 1.0

Kineto

Kineto is an action-puzzle game that will test your wits and your reflexes. It
presents a series of puzzles, called Tracks, in which Marbles travel along
frictionless Grooves. You can change the direction of some of the Grooves and
thereby alter the path the Marbles will follow. Guide enough of the Marbles into
the Buckets scattered around the Track and you will proceed to the next Track.

Of course, it rarely is quite as simple as that. The Marbles are very fragile
and will break if they collide with one another or run off a Groove. You must
also contend with Stoppers, Springs, Plates, and other devilish tricks on the
Track. And Black Marbles lurk at every turn, waiting to crush the other Marbles
and undo your hard work.

Kineto is a Java applet. To run it, you need any ONE of the following:

- MacOS 8
- System 7.x with Apple's MRJ (Macintosh Runtime for Java) installed
- Any Java-enabled web-browser such as Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Explorer

Subject: [*] Kinga 2.0.1 abstract

Kinga is a gambling game with an Egyptian theme.

It is your goal to win
enough money to build a Pyramid which consists of six construction
levels each costing 1500 credits.

When completed the secrets of a
Pyramid will be revealed to you!!

The game is split into three different
stages - The Begin Stage, The Pyramid Gamble Stage and finally, The
Sphinx Stage. Credits won can be transfered from one stage to the other.

The game is lost if at any time you run out of credits. Watch out for
the gremlins and demon !!!!!

I wrote Kinga originally for myself to provide an exciting substitute
for real gambling machines and it has already saved me a lot of money
!!!! The program chooses reel and pyramid positions at random.

Version 2.0 has some new features
- play, sound & speech settings
- pyramid background info
- revised instructions
- 256 colour compatible
- fixes some bugs

Version 2.0.1 includes a new payment system from Kagi

Enjoy,

Jason Sidwell.

Subject: [*] MediaPresenter 1.41

Welcome to the Trial Version of MediaPresenter 1.4!

NOTES REGARDING THIS TRIAL SOFTWARE
This trial software lets you experience firsthand the key features of
MediaPresenter 1.4. This trial software will expire 30 days after
installation. Contact SUDA (suda@interchange.ubc.ca) to purchase the full
product after that time.

ABOUT MEDIAPRESENTER
MediaPresenter is designed to make the presentation of graphic images,
QuickTime=81 movies, and short text messages quick and easy. During a
presentation visual annotation tools and image navigation tools are
available.

Media files used in a presentation are only stored as references to the
actual files on your hard drive or CD-ROM. When an image is displayed it is
automatically retrieved from disk. This makes MediaPresenter particularly
suitable for re-purposing Multimedia or World Wide Web content, and for
presenting a subset of a large image collection.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
MediaPresenter requires a Macintosh with a 68030 processor or greater,
including PowerPC, and requires System Software version 7.0 or later.

MediaPresenter requires 6 megabytes of free memory. Depending on the media
to be displayed with MediaPresenter, however, you may need to allocate more
memory to MediaPresenter using the Get Info dialog box in the finder.

At least 2 MB of free hard disk space should be available.

QuickTime 2.5 system software extension is recommended. QuickTime 2.0+
system software extension required.

Subject: [*] OS8 CMM Expansion Pack version 1.0

OS8 CMM Expansion Pack version 1.0

The OS8 CMM Expansion Pack was written to expand the functionality of the
MacOS8 contextual menu which is accessed by holding down the control key
while clicking on anything in the OS8 Finder. Two plugins are provided,
Finder Info 1.0 and Set Custom Icon 1.1.

The Set Custom Icon 1.1 plugin lets you quickly and easily change custom
icons on files, folders, applications and drives. Simply control-click on
the icon and you will see a Custom icon item and submenu appear, choices
include cut, copy, clear and paste depending on whether or not a custom
icon is present or on the clipboard. Much more pleasant than the old
fashioned way of going through the Get Info dialog. Future enhancements
will include the ability to paste PICT files as well as icons.

The Finder Info 1.0 plugin is likely to be of more interest to programmers
as it allows you to toggle the Finder information bits such as the
Invisible and Custom Icon bits. Control-click on the icons in the Finder
and you will see a Finder info item whose submenu lists the bits and their
current values, select these to toggle on or off. Please use this with care
as this information is actually used by the Finder and misuse can cause
problems. I'd like to add creator and type code changing here as well but
I've yet to work out a nice interface.

This software is shareware, with the low fee of US$10 payable directly or
via Kagi. Please read the enclosed read me for details.

I started redesigning Claris Emailer soon after I first started to use

that THERE ARE NO NAUGHTY PICTURES IN THIS RELEASE. Users have to get the

About v2.0
These file contains 5 maps I create for Warcraft II=A9, Mac version (is ther=

something else?), and are based in the maps of "The Lord of the Rings", a
great story created by J.R.R. Tolkien. I tried to make them just like the
"Middle Earth", but, for game reasons, I had to changed some places.
Anyway, you will find that the names are the same.

To play them, you need the "Warcraft II" game, created by Blizzard
Entertainment=A9. System requirements are the ones the game needs.

These maps are freeware, so you can use and abuse them all you want, you
can give them to your friends, put them on any commercially available
CD-ROM, or you can trash them. But, if you like some of them, send me an
email telling me so. I will be glad to receive it.

And I will be glad, too, if you do something good for our Apple or Mac
(evangelize a Wintel user, buy another Mac, pay for the shareware, etc.).

These Maps were checked with Disinfectant 1.7.
