Subject: [*] 8-Ball Emulator 9

This Mac application puts a pool table on your screen and lets you shoot
the balls down the holes. You can set the table size and ball size as you
wish, and adjust speed and friction. The Aim Assist feature shows you
which direction and how far the cue ball will go when you shoot. A Shot
Status window shows who's turn it is, whether they've made a legal shot,
etc. Version 9 lets you play 9-Ball and uses Kagi for registration.
Registered users of versions 7 and 8 will not need to reregister.

The registration process is fixed in version 9. ( In versions 7 and 8,
registration was broken in Sept. 1997). You can only do 5 shots per day
until you register. As the Registration window instructions say:

To register 8-Ball Emulator 9 for this computer, first use the 8-Ball
Registration application that comes with 8-Ball Emulator to pay for
registration.

When you get your payment confirmation, from Kagi, create a Key Request
letter with the machine code above and the confirmation TransactionID, and
send it to scottknudsen@compuserve.com. The 'Save...Letter' and 'Copy...'
buttons below will help you.

A Key Code will be returned to you that will unlock 8-Ball, for the machine
whose code is in the Key Request letter. Once you enter the Key Code in
the box above, you can play without interruption.

You can also send a check and the letter to Kagi. If you are paying with
credit card, you can email (sales@kagi.com) or fax ( 510 652 6589 ) the
application info. If you are paying with cash or USD check, print the info
and send it with payment to:
	Kagi
	1442-A Walnut St. #392-QQT
	Berkeley, CA 94709-1405
	USA
But you must e-mail the Key Request letter to scottknudsen@compuserve.com

AKUA Sweets V1.31
Released: 5. March, 1999

Redistribution may occur without permission from the Author.

Akua Sweets is a set of scripting additions and includes over 150 example
scripts showing their use. Some examples of these scripts include mounting
network volumes, converting to Unix text, controlling remote machines,
displaying images & animations, working with HTML files & tags and more...

V1.31 has mostly bug fixes to the V1.3 release and a few new commands.

V1.3 and beyond have a re-coded dictionary - there will be problems with
scripts made with versions < 1.26. There is an included applet called
"Update Scripts to Sweets V1.31" which should convert older compiled scripts
(more or less) to the new dictionary.

Akua Sweets includes the following Scripting Additions:
(Info-Mac will trim this list.)

Subject: [*] DiskRecall 1.1

Disk Recall is a super-fast disk cataloging utility. It creates catalogs
of any type of disk (floppies, hard drives, CD-ROMs, Zips, AppleShare
volumes, etc...). It features an intuitive Finder-like list view for
browsing disk contents, and a powerful multi-criteria search engine
modeled after Apple's Find File utility of System 8. Disk Recall uses a
very fast archiving algorithm to scan disks 5 to 10 times faster than
other Macintosh catalogers. You can search for duplicate files, delete
files or folders, scan inside Stuffit files, open and reveal items in the
Finder and more. Registered users also get the Disk Recall Extension which
automatically scans disks at eject time. Unlike with other (slower)
catalogers, users barely notice the extra delay when ejecting disks.
Shareware.

thus it works on ALL Macs with System 7.1 or later, including

Kaleidoscope 2.1.2 -- Shareware $25
by Greg Landweber and Arlo Rose

US English Version

Kaleidoscope is the ultimate in user interface customization, letting
you switch between completely different designs provided by plug-in
files called "Schemes". Kaleidoscope comes with eight schemes,
including the Mac OS 8, System 7, and Be OS interfaces, as well as
five radically new designs
by Arlo Rose, formerly of Apple's Human Interface Design Center.
There are also several thousand third party schemes available on the
Kaleidoscope Scheme Archive and elsewhere.

Kaleidoscope 2.1.2 offers many improvements and resolves various
conflicts. It works better with the latest applications that take
full advantage of the Mac OS 8.5 Appearance Manager, such as MT- or
YA-NewsWatcher and Transmit. In particular, Internet Explorer 4.5
looks especially good now with Kaleidoscope running. Menus with
complex patterns should draw faster, too. In addition, version 2.1.2
fixes problems with the new Blue & White G3's, StuffIt SpaceSaver,
FaxSTF, Extensions Manager, AppleWorks, Internet Explorer, Action
Files, SmartScroll, AliasMenu, Palm Desktop, DeskScan, Bias Peak, and

Kaleidoscope 2.1.2 -- Shareware $25
by Greg Landweber and Arlo Rose

Japanese Version

This is the latest edition (Mar 1, 1999) of the Mac-FTP-list and should
replace version 4.4.6.

The Mac-FTP-list lists over 200 mac anonymous ftp sites (some with notes),
over 110 Mac web pages, and contains some instructions on how to use anonymous
ftp and find files as well a format chart showing which programs decompress
and decode which files. Also there is a section on how to use certain files.

This Stuffit Deluxe 5.0 archive contains both the text and html versions of
the Mac-FTP-list.

To insure that the columns in the Format Chart section line up correctly the

MoviePhile is a FileMaker Pro database useful for keeping track of your
movie collection. It can even print VHS labels and store QuickTime movies.

Fixed a problem with the Retape date field - the text was white on a white
background, rendering it difficult to read.

The List View printouts now look tons better.

Fixed a problem with the label layouts that printed the Omit buttons.

Changed the aspect ratio of the QuickTime movie field to better reflect a
16:9 ratio (it's actually 220x120 if you're interested).

That's all that's worth noting.

Subject: [*] PictureArchive - Store Images In Searchable Database

PictureArchive V1.0

PictureArchive gives you the ability to store your images in a searchable
database. This database allows you to have 5 categories, where you choose
your own category items. The PictureArchive database just doesn't show you
the name of files, it will allow you to: 1) filter the list, 2) preview the
images, 3)show the images in their own window, and 4) even has a simple
slide show for you to view your filtered list.

However, PictureArchive doesn't stop there. PictureArchive will take a
fingerprint of the image and compare that fingerprint with other images in
your database. If the fingerprint is found, it will show you the image you
are adding vs. the image in the database. This will give you an easy way to
prevent duplicate copies of some of your favorite images from finding there
way into your personal archives.

Requires:
* System 7.5 or Later.
* QuickTime 2.5 or Higher

Subject: [*] SchemeChecker 1.4.4 - Kaleidoscope 1.x and 2.x scheme utility

When Greg Landweber released Kaleidoscope 1.5, he started supporting third
party color schemes. This made it possible for anybody to make their own
schemes and change their MacOS interface completely. But, unfortunately, not
all scheme designers are careful enough to make sure their schemes are bug
free.

To help scheme authors create schemes that had less bugs and would run more
smoothly, SchemeChecker was released. SchemeChecker runs several tests on
your schemes, to make sure you haven't omitted any crucial resources, or
added resources that aren't used at all.

Starting with version 1.4, SchemeChecker is fully compatible with the new,
complex scheme format in Kaleidoscope 2.x schemes. SchemeChecker also allows
schemes built for earlier versions of Kaleidoscope to contain the new
Kaleidoscope 2.x resources, such as desktop patterns, window colors or
cursors, as long as the resource IDs or functionality don't overlap.

SchemeChecker enables you to check all the schemes in any folder (including
subfolders), just one scheme or several schemes which can be selected from a
list. The results can easily be exported to a TEXT file which you can open
in any text editor.

Recent changes to SchemeChecker
-------------------------------
1.4.3 - March 3, 1999
   * SchemeChecker remembers the selected scheme folder between launches.
   * The new resources revealed in the Kaleidoscope 2.1.2 documentation
     are now properly recognized.

1.4 - 1.4.3:
   * Support is added for the new resources introduced in Kaleidoscope
     2.1.1 and MacOS 8.5.
   * SchemeChecker now does a better job at checking schemes configured
to be used only with Kaleidoscope 2.0 or later. It also allows
schemes built for earlier versions of Kaleidoscope to contain the
new Kaleidoscope 2.0 resources in areas where the resource IDs
     don't overlap.
   * Kaleidoscope now checks the "Minimum Kaleidoscope version" entry in
the Colr ID 129 resource for errors.
   * You can now make SchemeChecker automatically fix any unset System
     Heap and Purgeable bits.
   * When you select a different scheme in the Result window, the dis-
played information no longer reverts to the "further info" field.
   * misc. bug fixes and improvements

Subject: [*] SpriteWorld 2.2 -> 2.2.1 Update

Use this update package to bring SpriteWorld 2.2 up to version 2.2.1. Only
two minor changes were made since 2.2 was released:

* Modified SWCollideSpriteLayer and SWCollideCircularSpriteLayer so it is now
safe to call SWRemoveSpriteFromAnimation (but not SWRemoveSprite) to remove
as many Sprites as you want from any SpriteLayer from within your
collideProc. Note that it is still unsafe to do this from a MoveProc or
FrameProc. For those routines, it is only safe to remove the srcSpriteP that
is passed to that function, or Sprites from Layers other than the one the
srcSpriteP is in. But your collideProc may remove any Sprite(s) it wishes
without any problems.

* Fixed a bug where SWCreateRegionFromGWorldAndRect wouldn't work correctly.
This bug wouldn't have affected you unless you called this function directly,
or called BlitPixie8BitFlipSprite on a Sprite with a maskRgn.

The flexibility that was added to SWCollideSpriteLayer was considered
important enough to warrant this update, even though little else has changed
since 2.2.

TykeWriter - Word Processor for Kids! Version 2.1.0

TykeWriter is an easy to use text editor providing an adjustable range of
features suited for both beginning and advanced child typists. The last
release was widely recommended and received a four star rating by MacWorld
publisher Ziff-Davis.

The document typing area is presented as a wire-bound notebook. A floating
pallette makes features such as New File, Save, and Exit easily available
with the click of a button, and also offers several standard text styles
such as underline or outline text. Multiple color text support is also
available.

TykeWriter supports the Speech Manager, which allows children to have fun
with various voices reading their work. If you've got kids, and want to
teach them how to use a Mac, TykeWriter is an excellent place to start. An
optional tool supports accents for European languages. TykeWriter can be
used without the keyboard, using only the mouse and on-screen alphabet. It
includes a user guide.

New features since the popular version 2.0.0:

Customizable Voices - Kids will be able to switch Speech Manager voices. If
two documents are open at once, each may have a different voice and can
speak at the same time.

Customizable Styles - Each child can have a custom default style.
Intermediate level students can choose from a customizable list of styles.
For instance, if
you only have a black and white printer, you can change all the styles to
black and white.

Online Help - Each of the "grown-ups" configuration menu has a help button.

Graceful Transitions Between Levels - In version 2.0.0, if you reconfigured
TykeWriter, it often did odd things until it was restarted. This is
corrected in version 2.1.0.

Several minor bugs fixed and adjustments.

System requirements:
* 68030 or better
* System 7.0 or later (uses only 1.5 MB of DRAM while running). It has been
tested on both System 7.1 and System 8.5.
* 1 MB of disk (hard drive) space

TykeWriter can be used for free for a one month trial period. A price of
$10 is requested for continued use. For more information, please read the
