Sheldon" To: digest@info-mac.org Subject: my TiPBG4 battery problem, "catch for catch" I wrote the following to macintouch on this battery problem thread. I had taken the bottom case off my TiPBG4 to install an airport card. Sharp reading eyeglasses (good as a magnifier or bright light for my eyes) helped me observe uncaught tiny catch near corner of battery hole near center of case. Because of this being uncaught, the top seam of the battery hole hadn't closed and this prevented the battery from seating properly and itself catching. Both my batteries work now, after this fix. Hope this helps the mac portable supercomputer community! ;-) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 May 2001 23:53:48 -0700 From: "Cyrus Roton" To: "info-mac letters" Subject: QuickTime 5 and midi files I installed QT 5, and now my the Player will not handle my midi files. The problem only exists with CDs, as far as I know. Your Mac should be able to read other PC media (HDs, floppies, etc.) normally. What you need is the "Joliet" extension from Thomas Tempelmann. Look for the latest version yt . Mine is version 1.3 and works with MacOS 9.04 on a blue/white G3, and with MacOS 8.6 on my Wallstreet Powerbook. Best wishes, Christian. -- Christian F.
