Subject: [*] Nu Serif 3.0 TrueType Font - A scalable Espy Serif
Nu Serif version 3.0; June 23, 1998; by Martin P. Pfeiffer.
Nu Serif is a font family that brings Apple Computer's "Espy Serif"
bitmap font
to the printed page.
Features:
--You can use Nu Serif at any point size--without getting the jaggies.
--The registered version includes bold, italic and bold italic--great for
web
browsing.
--Nu Serif, with it's high x-height, is a very readable font, on-screen
and on
the printed page
--It's a great companion font for Nu Sans.
About the Nu Serif font family:
Nu Serif is based on Apple Computer's "Espy Serif" bitmap font. Espy
Serif is a
font designed by Apple's Human Interface people for easy readability on
computer
screens. This bitmap font is used in the Apple Guide screens. It is a
serif
companion for Espy Sans. In my opinion (and in the opinion of a lot of my
registered users :-), this is the most readable and legible font
combination for
on-screen use.
Now you can use Espy Serif on your printer as well as at many different
point
sizes on screen. This flexibility allows you to use Nu Serif anywhere you
want.
And with the addition of the other three fonts: bold, italic and bold
italic--available only to registered users--Nu Serif makes a perfect all
around
font. Studies have shown that for prolonged reading, serif fonts are much
easier
to read than sans serif. But up till now, most serif fonts have not been
optimized for on-screen use. Nu Serif changes all this, by being easy on
the eyes
on-screen and on the printed page.

You are an Apple Computer faced to Wintel hordes.
Move your Mac around at the bottom of the screen using your arrow keys, and

Subject: [*] A Get Info Applet
Sent: 6/25/98 7:46 PM
The 'Get Info' script
(c)1998 Wade Riddick
This little script allows you to *easily* change the file type & creator
information for any file dropped on it. It'll also show the size of the
data and resource forks (handy if you have a disk that runs under some
funky metric system where 1 byte = 60K).
If you drop a folder, it'll scan every file down to the last subfolder.
You change each one at a time or hit the 'Do All' button which will alter
*every* subsequent file to whatever you've just entered in the fields (use
this prudently).
This script requires Dialog Runner and who knows what other scripting
extensions. To get it to work, you'll have to drop the resource file in
the Preferences folder. Both the applet and script are included for your
edification/amusement.
It runs slow as a dog (let me clarify: a lethargic bassethound) even on a
G3, but that's an Applescript problem.
Due to the all the 'adult' SPAM coming into my mail box lately, I've
decided to label this "Bimboware." If you use it, you are morally,
legally and ethically obligated to debase yourself by visiting my website:
http://www.utexas.la.edu/~riddick
And, of course, I'll be grateful for every false response you send the
spammers. (I SWEAR! I'll never post to the usenet again! 'Uncle,'
already!)

This application allows you to cheat with MacDiablo(TM) 1.04.
I made that program as one more step in my personal quest to eradicate
all Virtual Evil from the known universe. After a lot of philosophical
thinking, I realized that not only Virtual Evil was Bad, but also any
program that would create it from nothing, even to untertain some
unsuspecting user!
So, allowing you to cheat in MacDiablo(TM) will make the game so borring
that you'll end up either not cheating, or even better not playing, thus
decreasing the amount of Virtual Evil from the universe!

Digital Darkroom 1.2 is a powerful yet easy-to-use image
editing application for Macintosh 68K and PowerPC users.
Its simplistic interface makes working with images easier
and overcomes limitations you might experience with other
applications that boast large, screen-cluttering displays.
One-step commands and functions (AutoMagic(tm)) helps you
improve common flaws without having to learn complex
sequences of operations usually found in many other popular
image editors. And a built-in image browser lets you
catalog folders of images on your hard disk, then view
thumbnail previews of them while you are working in the
program. Open a new image by simply clicking on a thumbnail
preview in the browser window. Image editing has never been
easier!
This demonstration version is fully functional, with Save,
Print and Export to other applications (Cut & Copy) disabled.

Keep It Up version 1.4.1
Are you tired of getting the "The Application XXX has unexpectedly quit
because an error of type ZZZ occurred" messages ? Are you depending on your
(server) applications to keep running at all times, even when you're away ?
Try Keep It Up.
What does Keep It Up do ?
a. Keep It Up (KIU) watches certain applications and monitors if they are
still running. If an application no longer runs because it "unexpectedly
quit" or because the user quit it, KIU will attempt to relaunch this
application (and open certain documents) or restart the computer.
b. KIU can also perform regular scheduled restarts. This reduces the chance
of anything going wrong in the first place.
c. KIU can also be told the keep one (server) application always in front,
which improves the performance of this application. This also comes in
handy for kiosks to prevent your application from being switched to the
background.
Version 1.4.1 changes: bug fixes and some other small improvements (see

Subject: [*] Nu Serif 3.0 PostScript Font - A scalable Espy Serif

Subject: [*] Pizzeria 1.1 - a java/pizza development environment
PIZZERIA
--------
version 1.1, PPC
release date: 26-06-98
(c) 1997-1998 by Matthias Zenger
--------
Pizzeria is a free Pizza and Java integrated development environment
for MacOS. Pizza is a superset of the Java programming language.
Regarding Java, Pizza incorporates three important new features:
* Parametric polymorphism
* First-class functions
* Class cases and pattern matching
Pizza programs are compiled to ordinary Java classfiles that can be
executed using every existing Java Virtual Machine.
Pizzeria consists of a text editor, a Pizza/Java compiler and a
classfile executor. It allows you to run Java applications within
the development environment. You can define every Java application
as a plug-in tool for Pizzeria. So it is possible to use javac for
example together with Pizzeria.
Pizzeria runs on top of Apple's MacOS Runtime for Java MRJ 2.0.
So it's possible to create stand-alone MacOS Java and Pizza
applications with JBindery.
Pizzeria is distributed as freeware.

Software of Ramp-related folds " forward " modeling
Currently the following modes of folding are simulated:
*** Fault-bend folding: the fracture preexists to folding (Suppe 1983);
there are 2 modes, but only the first seems geologically realistic.
*** Fault-propagation folding: foldind and fracturing are synchronous
(Suppe 1985, Jamison1987). Late-stage evolutions are possible (Mercier et

*** Chester & Chester folding: (generalized Fault-propagation folding) a
combination of the two precedents (Chester & Chester 1990).

Subject: [*] SmartKeys 3.3.1
SmartKeys 3.3.1 is a shareware control panel designed to help you type.
SmartKeys does this in four ways. First, SmartKeys automatically corrects
typing that violates conventional typesetting rules, such as typing more
than one consecutive space. Second, SmartKeys automatically corrects fast
typing errors, words that are often misspelled, such as "teh" for "the"
and "THe" for "The". Third, it can require modifiers to engage the Caps
Lock and the Help key, making them more difficult to press inadvertently.
Finally, in the event of a system crash, SmartKeys can keep a log of what
was typed.
SmartKeys 3.3.1 supersedes version 3.3 and all earlier versions of
SmartKeys.
SmartKeys 3.3.1 fixes a crashing bug in introduced in the short-lived 3.3
release.
SmartKeys 3.3 fixes a problem on G3s involving unresponsive keyboards
after Energy Saver sleep. In addition, the transposed word list has been
dramatically expanded!
Try out SmartKeys for thirty days for free. SmartKeys is not crippled in
any way and requires no serial number to run, but it does post a periodic
registration reminder. However, if you like it, please pay the shareware
fee of $15 (US). Note that registered users of 3.x.x do not have to
re-register.
