ClockSync II 1.2.0 (by Jeremy Kezer).
Author's email address: jbkezer@kagi.com
If you have two or more Macintoshes, you probably notice that the clocks
drift apart as time goes by. This can range from being a minor nuisance to
a problem, especially if you do a lot of synchronizing between the
Macintoshes. ClockSync II synchronizes the clocks between two or more
Macintoshes, by setting the clocks of the "Servant"Macintoshes to that of a
"Master" Macintosh.
ClockSync has two components. The ClockSync Master runs continuously on
the "Master" Macintosh, while the ClockSync Servant can be run on any other
Macintosh on the network to update its time.
All of my utilities can be registered through the Kagi shareware system.
Version 1.2.0 has the following enhancements:
- Added periodic synchronization option to the Servant.
Shareware; $5 for a 3-user license with larger licenses available.

Subject: [*] CronoTask 1.0.4 68k (Cron utility with true OS 8 Mac interface)
CronoTask allows to specify an unlimited number of programs to launch when
your Mac server is unattended, with a very easy and fast to use interface.
All the tasks to launch are listed in a table, with a double click on a row
you can define in details how many times and when to launch the referred
task (program, document, applet) selecting it from the HD, and using for
the schedule a daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly plan.
Using Crono Task you can assign the tasks your Mac can perform for a whole
year.
Interface of Crono Task is simply amazing.
It was realized taking full advantage of the new elements of apparence
Manager available under System 8 (works also under Sys 7).
Using Crono Task is absolutely easy and fast, in few minutes you can setup
your server automatic tasks.
No code to digit or cripting language and code to learn (and forget), Crono
Task uses Mac controls to specify parameters (it's not a unix porting, it's
a true _Macintosh_ program)
When you look at a panel to specify a task you don't need to read manuals !
Crono Task is really a 'control station' for your Mac, using it you can
automatize and run any task during the night, when your Mac is unattended
without having to stop services during the day.
Available both for 68k and ppc.
CDROM distribution is permitted!

Subject: [*] CyberMozartInstaller3
Mozart did not have a computer so he threw two dice a total of sixteen
times to choose items from his list of 176 measures consituting his
"Musical Dice Game." CyberMozart is YAV's popular implementation of
Mozart's "Musical Dice Game." You merely have to press the "Compose" button
to create a new English Country Dance (there are trillions of
possibilities).
CyberMozart, will keep generating new pieces in the style of Mozart as long
as you can keep pressing the Compose button. Other features include
notation with scrolling playback, printing, saving as standard MIDI files
and notation files, and real-time editing options for tempo, transposition,
track volume, and instrumentation.
CyberMozart version 3.0 can now save, recall, and print notation files
along with both type 1 and type 0 standard MIDI files. The revamped user
interface adds drag-and-drop and OS 8 support. A new installer makes it
easier to get started. Note that MIDI Manager, while not required, is
recommended and the installer will install this extension.
CyberMozart is an example of algorithmic composition software. This
program, which generates a Mozart-like country dance, is contrasted to its
companion program PushBtnBach which uses a semantic description of a Bach
minuet expressed in "YMTDL" ("YAV's Music Transformation Description
Language"). Generating music from a model is an entirely different
approach to that employed by CyberMozart (which simply simulates the
tossing of dice to re-arrange existing musical fragments stored as MIDI
chunks, much like the approach taken by many interactive music CD-ROMs
which use digital audio chunks instead of MIDI).
The pair of programs (PushBtnBach and CyberMozart) illustrate the
difference between the infinite world of interactive music (PushBtnBach)
and the finite world of interactive audio (CyberMozart).
CyberMozart a great way to obtain license-free music for your multimedia
production. Just be sure to mention how it was created.

Intelligent Chaos 1.5 -- probably the fastest chaos engine on earth!
Intelligent Chaos (IC) is a simple tool which allows You to study the
emergence of chaotic behaviour in the logistic equation and related
iterations.
Of course there already exist plenty of programs that makes beautiful
chaotic graphs, but You will never understand chaos theory without
looking at the actual numbers. That is what You can do with IC, in great
detail.
The equation used is a*x*(1-x). The chaotic parameter (a) is given the
default value 3.5699, that is just below the point where chaos sets in,
but the idea is of course that You should let i vary from 2 to 4.

custom animations which can be made to appear in place of any icon
displayed by your Macintosh.
With Kineticon you will have the coolest hard drive icon on your block!
With Kineticon you will have the cutest trash can icon in your neighborhood!
And remember, if you don't like the included animations, you can easily
make your own!

are supported).
* System 7.5 or higher (tested up to 8.1).

From: BruceG6069@aol.com (Bruce Grubb)
This is the latest edition (Feb 1, 1998) of the Mac-FTP-list and should
replace version 4.3.3.
The Mac-FTP-list lists over 200 mac anonymous ftp sites (some with notes),
over 75 Mac web pages, and contains some instructions on how to use anonymous
ftp and find files as well a format chart showing which programs decompress
and decode which files. Also there is a section on how to use certain files.
This archive contains both the text and html versions of the Mac-FTP-list.
To insure that the columns in the Format Chart section line up correctly the
document's text must be in a monospaced font such as Courier 10pt, Monaco 9pt,
or a PC equivalent.
Permission is given for this program to be included on the Info-Mac CD-ROM.
Changes: Format chart updated; ftp.ShadowMAC.org IP# changed;
Added sites/URLs: None;
Defunct sites/URLs: None;

MacCurveFit is a scientific least squares curve fitting program. Data sets
can be entered into a spreadsheet window or imported from programs like
Excel or extracted from text files. Arbitrary equations may then be fitted
to the data and the fits displayed graphically. The equations can be defined
by typing them as text and so the program is very flexible. There is also a
choice of mathematical algorithms that can be used for curve fitting.

Subject: [*] Matrix maker 3.0
From: (John Melby) melby@kagi.com
Subject: Matrix Maker 3.0
This StuffIt archive contains the newest version of "Matrix maker", a
Macintosh application designed for the easy creation and formatting of
twelve-tone matrices (12 x 12 arrays) used in the composition and/or
analysis of twelve-tone music. It will also allow the creation and
formatting of 7 x 7, 6 x 6, and 5 x 5 matrices (or, for that matter, of any
dimension from 2 x 2 through 12 x 12). Unlike the previous version (v 2.7),
which was designed for use with Microsoft Word 6.0.x for the Macintosh,
version 3.0 is a stand-alone version that requires no additional
word-processing software. Any number of matrices can be created without
exiting and re-initializing the application;
this is particularly advantageous if the program is being used in a
networked environment. Extensive documentation in HTML format can be viewed
by utilizing any of the current Macintosh browsers. The file used to open
the documentation is by default a Netscape HTML document, but in fact it
can be used in conjunction with other browsers, such as Cyberdog, the
authors' preferred browser, as long as the browser is properly configured
(Internet Config is particularly useful for this purpose). "Matrix maker
3.0" will run on both 68K and PowerPC machines.
This application, written by John Melby and Charles Melby-Thompson, is
shareware It may be included on CD-ROM releases as long as it is included
unchanged and in its entirety.

Subject: [*] Mennos-organiser-1.2-fp3
Menno's Organiser 1.2 (for FP3) What is this. Menno's Organiser 1.0 FP3
is a full-featured Organizer where you can keep a To Do List, a Day
Planner, track of your expenses, track of your work time, your cars
mileages, charts on your contacts and write letters and faxes from. All
this from a single file with a perpetual calendar, called
"Organise.FP3". In every layout there is on line help available. What is
required. *To work with this open the "Organise.FP3"-file. *Do not
rename any of the files nor set an incorrect date in your System (If you
do the organiser may notice that and may refuse to start up). *This file
system needs at least Filemaker Pro3.0v4 or better to work. It will not
work on older versions. *Set your monitor at 256 colours/grayscales or
more and set the screen resolution at at least 800x600, if you don't the
organizer will still launch but it will not be very smooth to use. *This
will work on a MacOS=81 but also on a WinTel computer with Claris
=46ilemakerPro3.0v4 or better installed.
What is the story.
I have been travelling very much and living in hotels the past 6 years and
I needed to keep track work time, contacts, expenses, letters, drives with
the car and lost more. So I started to develop this Organis(z)er that
started as a simple expenses list in 1994 in Filemaker Pro=81 1.0 and has
evolved into what I present to you here. In februari 1996 I started this
file system totally new so I have put a tremendous amount of time and
effort into it and I hope that you will enjoy and appreciate it.
What does it cost.
This is a demonstration copy that will expire (lock up) 90 days after using
it the first time, expiring is the only restriction to it. If you would
like to keep using this, pay the share ware fee of US$20.00. The
information you need to register is completely available in the
Organise.FP3 file. After I 've received your fee I send you a new copy that
won't expire.
Disclaimer
If you use this, you do so entirely, totally, completely at your very, very
own risk. I do not accept any liability and responsibility.
________New versions and Information
If you need any information, help or just some advice (also on Filemaker in
general) you can either contact me via E-Mail: mennob@euronet.nl or visit
my website http://www.euronet.nl/~mennob where you can use my "Send Me
Mail"-page and where you can download the newest version(s) of my Files.
This version has improved over the 1.0 version in the following ways:
1) A bug in renewing the ToDoList has been removed; in some cases the
TDL-item was moved to a new date when although it wasn't supposed to.
2) You can now connect address-charts to a ToDoList-Item.
3) The sort-portals features of FMPro 4.0 is now supported without the
workaround of exporting and importing records, which is still needed (and
used) if you run it under FMP 3.0
4) Several fixes "under the hood" that make the system more stable.
5) I've created a "wormhole" which makes it possible (still not that easy),
to retrieve your data after the organiser has expired; mail me if you need
the instructions for it.

NudgeMouser is an Extension that lets you move the mouse very precisely,
using the cursor keys or the numeric keypad. It is a mouse "helper"
rather than a replacement like Easy Access.
NudgeMouser is always available: you should never know it's there unless
you're using it. NudgeMouser is only active while dragging and has no
key repeat feature, since it is intended for small, precise movements
rather than as a complete mouse replacement. It DOES provide the ability
to lock down and/or click the mouse from the keyboard, and to change the
amount moved/keypress. It needs NO modifier keys; you can use them as
usual (to option-drag, for example).
NudgeMouser should be compatible with any machine running System 7.5+ and
any application. It's $8 shareware, and is very handy (try it with Adobe
Illustrator).

Subject: [*] SpikeInstaller16
Spike, by YAV Interactive Media (http://www.yav.com) is the first
batch-processing data-spike detection and analysis tool for QuickTime
movies. Spike solves the stutter and glitch playback problems of CD-ROM and
Web-based QuickTime files. Given a batch of QuickTime movies, Spike
determines which among them will provide optimal playability from a range
of deployment platforms and media. Offering many of the features of Apple's
long-discontinued MovieAnalyzer, Spike is compatible with QuickTime 2.5 and
beyond.
Current QuickTime compression software reports the average data rate of
files; many people mistakenly use this figure to make decisions about the
suitability of compressed video for their playback targets. A QuickTime
movie can have a perfectly acceptable average data rate while still
containing data spikes that will seriously disrupt playback on any machine.
Spike identifies these problems and offers a suite of options for
controlling their detection. Other features include detailed data-rate
graphs, "Spike Alerts" and reports in frames-per-second and SMPTE, several
preview options, and batch processing.
Version 1.6 addresses Macintosh OS 8 and OS 8.1 compatibility issues
and fixes problems displaying some QuickTime datarate graphs of movies with
more than 3000 frames. Spike now processes both Macintosh and
cross-platform (datafork-only) movies created by all versions of QuickTime,
including Quicktime 3.0.
