This file, nbmega.zip contains all the games from ftp://ftp.pitt.edu/group/chess/PGN/ with about 30 000 Finnish games from http://www.ae.tut.fi/~jarmo/shakki/suomipelit.html up to 31.12.1997. Total number of games is about 450 000. The files have been cleaned with cbnormal.exe, cbdedupe.exe and cbstrip.exe but unfortunately there are still quite many duplicates.

The file is in Nicbase 3.0 format. There are two reasons for this:

  1. Nicbase format takes much less diskspace than Chessbase format.
  2. I use Nicbase 3.0.
There are good tools for converting the files to other formats.
