Subject: New project wish list after Fanoe

Hello Kiters,

(especially those who have attended the biggest kite festival of Fanoe)

after having come back from Fanoe, I wanted to know, whether you also have a new
wish list of kites, that you want to built. I think that I did not see as much kites
on Fanoe as last year, but nevertheless I saw many kites, that I would like to
build or perhaps even buy.

The following is my (small) list of kites that I would like to build until next 
Fanoe-meeting:

- Cody kite
- Manta Ray (originally by Peter Lynn)
- Pterosaur (sp?) (originally by George Peters, plan in M. Eden book)
- another octopus
- a kite that can be used from 1 to 7 beaufort, which is stable and I do not have to
  care about when flying, just to put my banner on the line when coming to the beach
  perhaps a box-kite or a delta
- a big inflatable
- rokaku for rokaku-battle (hi n@r.k)
- centipede (orignally by Peter Lynn, I will perhaps buy one, if it is not too expensive)
- vented rev

Simo and some more people have already reported about the Fanoe meeting, I just wanted to add
some details about the week after the official meeting. As reported, the weather was not 
so good during the meeting, but just after most of the particpants had left, there was a wonderfull
day for kite flying on monday. It was really warm with wind starting with 4 Bft and slowly decreasing. 
There were nearly as much kites on the beach as on Friday, the first official day of the meeting. 
There was Andreas Jaenhke with his "Knubbel" - a huge inflatable with the shape of a dragon baby, 
swimming shorts and two wings, very nice. In the evening, he also started his new inflatable, a 
very nice whale.

There was a group of germans, that had build 7 or 8 pterosaur (by G. Peters). And if you were looking 
only at this part of the sky where those kites were flying you could imagine, how one could have felt
millions of years before, when those birds where really flying. 

I hope that our american friends enjoyed the meeting despite the unfriendly weather conditions. I was 
not able to attend all the meetings with you because I also had to take care of my two daughters,
but I hope to see you all again, perhaps on Fanoe, perhaps on some other kite event somewhere.

Most of Peter's soft kites come in different sizes, typically mini,
midi and maxi.  Without quoting figures, the prices are:

Mini:  Not cheap, but you could buy one if you wanted to.
Midi:  A serious amout of money - you'll only buy this if you're really
          determined
Maxi:  The price of a decent second hand saloon car.

I havn't seen a centipede for 2 years - I'd love to see one again.
